These Terms govern your use of CollectVault(the “Service”), a web and mobile application for cataloging, valuing, and tracking comic book and trading-card collections, operated by CollectVault LLC. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

You must provide accurate information and are responsible for all activity under your account. Authentication is handled by our provider (Clerk); keep your login credentials secure and notify us of any unauthorized use. You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. One person may not maintain multiple free accounts to evade plan limits.
The Service offers a free tier and paid plans (Collector Pro, Investor Pro, and Vault Pro). Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automaticallyat the then-current price until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Settings → Billing or the Stripe customer portal; your plan remains active through the end of the period you've already paid for, and you will not be charged again after that. Refunds: except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. We may issue good-faith refunds for clearly broken functionality or accidental charges at our discretion. Trials: Investor Pro includes a 14-day free trial for first-time subscribers; cancel any time during the trial to avoid being charged. Price changes: we may change prices or plan features with reasonable advance notice (at least 30 days for existing subscribers); changes take effect on your next renewal.
All values, grades, price histories, alerts, Hot Movers signals, Top Gainers / Losers lists, arbitrage opportunities, and other market data in the Service are estimates for informational purposes only. They are aggregated from third-party catalog and marketplace sources (PriceCharting, eBay, Pokémon TCG API, and others), processed by automated tooling, and are not guaranteed to be current, accurate, or reflective of actual transaction prices. Niche or low-liquidity items may have stale or sparse data. Snapshots may be 24+ hours old. AI scan results (including identification and grade estimates) can be wrong. Nothing in the Service constitutes professional appraisal, grading, financial, investment, insurance, or tax advice. You should not make buying, selling, trading, insurance, or tax decisions based solely on data in the Service — verify market prices independently before executing transactions. You are solely responsible for your decisions and for the accuracy of the data you enter.
You retain ownership of the collection data, photos, notes, and public profile content you add. You grant CollectVaulta worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, display, and transmit that content solely to operate the Service for you (and, for content you mark public, to display it to other users). You may revoke this license by deleting the content or your account. Don't upload content you don't have the right to use, including copyrighted material you didn't create or license.
CollectVault respects intellectual-property rights. If you believe content on the Service — including a cover image another user uploaded to the shared catalog — infringes your copyright, send a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to our designated agent at support@collectvault.net with: (a) your signature; (b) identification of the work; (c) the location of the material on the Service; (d) your contact details; (e) a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorized; and (f) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and you are the owner or authorized to act for them. We remove or disable infringing material promptly and terminate repeat infringers. User-contributed covers: collectors may upload a cover image to fill a blank catalog entry, and these are shown to other users. We display them best-effort, never overriding an official source, and we may remove any user-submitted image at our discretion — for any reason, without notice — including images that are wrong, off-topic, low-quality, infringing, or inappropriate. Anyone can flag an image using the report control shown on user-submitted covers. By uploading, you confirm you have the right to share the image and grant CollectVault the license described in Section 4 above.
Profiles and want lists are opt-in features — once you toggle a public surface on, the data you choose to share becomes visible to other authenticated users; we may also cache it for performance. Marketplace is not enabled at launch. If and when CollectVault enables peer-to-peer listings and offers, the following will apply: sales are between the buyer and seller; CollectVault is not a party to the transaction, does not hold funds, does not provide buyer or seller protection, and does not mediate, arbitrate, or settle disputes about authenticity, condition, shipping, or payment. Users settle payment, shipping, and any disputes directly off-platform, at their own risk. A supplemental disclosure with marketplace- specific terms will be published before the feature ships.
Don't misuse the Service: no scraping, automated bulk access beyond normal use, reverse engineering, attempts to disrupt or overload the Service, or use that violates law or the terms of our data providers (including eBay, PriceCharting, and other catalog sources). Don't use the Service to launder money, evade sanctions, or facilitate the sale of stolen, counterfeit, or illegally-acquired goods. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
The Service integrates third parties including Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting, storage, analytics), Railway (database), Sentry (error monitoring), Resend (transactional email), Anthropic (AI scanning), and catalog providers including PriceCharting, the Pokémon Trading Card Game API (pokemontcg.io), eBay, and the Grand Comics Database (comics.org) — used for search, covers, valuations, listings, and scanning. Comic catalog metadata derived from the Grand Comics Database is used under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0; see /attributions for the full credit. Your use of those integrations is also subject to those providers' terms. We don't control and aren't responsible for the accuracy, availability, or behavior of third-party services.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CollectVaultand its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses arising from reliance on valuations or data, lost profits, business interruption, or loss of data. Our total cumulative liability for any claim is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $100. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations; in those cases the limitations apply only to the maximum extent permitted.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CollectVault and its operator from any third-party claims arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
You can stop using the Service and delete your account anytime from Settings → Account. Deletion is permanent and cascades: your copies, comps, wishlist, listings, offers, and notifications are removed, and your data export is your responsibility before deletion. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, or discontinue the Service with reasonable notice; in that case we'll provide an export option for at least 30 days.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Hampshire, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms; material changes will be communicated in the Service or by email at least 30 days before they take effect for existing users. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. The current version always lives at this URL.
